Barefield DesignWorks, Inc. is a Detroit-based, full-service graphic design studio. Owner/director Barbara Weinberg Barefield has been a graphic designer, art director, illustrator, photographer, writer and publishing consultant for more than 40 years. Her experience includes:
• Graphic designer for posters, brochures, newsletters, logos/identities, and promotional materials; many projects include writing and editing, as well as developing marketing/promotional strategies, websites, and printed materials.
• Co-founder, co-producer, publicist, graphic designer, media consultant and photographer for Palmer Woods Music in Homes, 2007-present, a series of jazz, classical and world music concerts in historic homes.
• Board member, events chair, graphic designer and photographer for People for Palmer Park, a non-profit organization partnering with the community and city to revitalize and restore a major Detroit urban green space. Work includes designing printed materials and social media outreach materials for community events and organizational campaigns and projects.
• Art Director for the Detroit Free Press Sunday magazine, 1977-1980, and UAW Solidarity magazine, 1981-February 2005.
